I don’t know what the full story is behind this massive 5,099 square foot log home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, but it was built in 2007 – obviously with no expense spared – and the realtor says it was “never lived in”.
It is an estate sale so it was probably not a happy ending for the (former) owner/seller.
But this place is so magnificent, I had to give it some attention. (Not to mention that it is built from “Canadian full round log”.)

This stunning mountain home located just west of Denver, Colorado seems to defy being categorized. The outside is linear and ranch-style – a bit of a mid-century feel – but also has some cottage-y elements with the decorative green trim and cupola-like thing jutting out from the roofline.
I was surfing the listings in Evergreen, Colorado recently and this mountain-clinging house caught my eye:

You can see how it appears to sit on stilts and there is a boardwalk leading to the front door. Off of that is a wrap-around porch. I really wish the realtor had included pictures of the front of the house!
