I have posted before on the fabulous collection of mid-century homes in Palm Springs California. Since it is still winter outside in Colorado, I would like to again return to Palm Springs for some lustful house-peeping.
This mid-century built house is currently on the market in Palm Springs for $1,249,000… apparently, it used to belong to Dinah Shore!
I love the vibrant color mixed with the stonework. Looks like an outdoor fireplace (above) – nice!
Have a peek inside…
Recently remodeled for the discerning modern purist, this property is situated on a walled, corner lot in the historic Movie Colony neighborhood. This home has incredible mountain views and has walls of glass intersecting the pitched tongue-and-groove wood ceilings, poured terrazzo flooring & stone fireplace. The master bedroom opens on to the pool with view and enjoys its own en-suite bath. A junior master suite along with 2 additional bedrooms and a bath offer abundant entertaining potential. An oversized family/media room includes a wet bar, 3rd fireplace and bookshelves. The views are incredible from both inside and outside the home, and the gardens are beautiful. Nestled across the street from the Tony Curtis House and the Art Linkletter Estates. This is a rare Mid Century Modern home with an important Architectural Provenance!– from: http://www.idxre.com/
Palm Springs is where Hollywood glam went to play in the desert. (Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Lucy & Desi Arnez, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and Clark Gable all owned homes in Palm Springs.) And the stars still flock to this desert oasis. Palm Springs is currently home – or part-time home – to Barbara Streisand and James Brolin, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, among others.
You can see the complete listing here.
But please, only “discerning modern purists” need apply. (realtor’s words, not mine!)
